Sweets are the way to Jonathan Bennett’s heart — even the ones that make your face smell like peppermint.
The “Mean Girls” actor and fiancé Jaymes Vaughan are spending their first Valentine’s Day as an engaged couple by staying home and “making [their] kitchen feel fancy.”
“We plan to make a big dinner and bake one of my favorite recipes, this BE MINE Brownie Skillet,” Bennett actor told Page Six via email while promoting his partnership with Lily’s Sweets. “We love cooking and baking — cookies the most — during the lockdown. It keeps us busy.”
Vaughan popped the question to Bennett — who famously played Aaron Samuels in the 2004 comedy — in November.
While they’ve spent their engagement in quarantine, Bennett told us that they keep the spark alive by “constantly surprising each other with small gifts, movie nights and, in my case, baked goods. Because of lockdown, it can be tough, so you really have to put in the effort! I’m just so lucky I get to marry my best friend.”

He joked, “I’ve been stocked with Lily’s Sweets since quarantine began so I basically incorporate them into every meal I make now! Jaymes loves chocolate so it works out.”
Bennett added that they have started planning their wedding and “have something really exciting in the works,” but his dream wedding is as simple as can be.
He told us, “As long as I’m marrying James, nothing else matters.”
