Shawn Johnson gave her Instagram followers a health update on Tuesday, days after revealing she had tested positive for COVID-19.
Thanking fans for their well-wishes, Johnson — who is pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Andrew East — said she believes her case is “pretty mild,” but noted Monday was “probably [her] worst night.”
“I coughed all night, that was bad. But during the daytime I feel really good, my headaches are gone, my sore throat is finally gone,” the former Olympic gymnast explained in a series of Instagram stories.
Although “nervous about being pregnant, and the baby,” Johnson, 29, said she is “trying to get enough rest so [she] can heal.”
On Sunday, Johnson confirmed she had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, stating she was nervous because she has dealt with asthma her whole life. The “Dancing with the Stars” alum said Tuesday she didn’t feel “compromised yet.”
“So far, knock on wood, I don’t feel compromised yet,” Johnson said. “Breathing wise, I feel winded, but it’s pregnancy. And nothing more than the usual. And since I have had asthma my whole life, I’m pretty hyper-aware of my breathing, and when it’s labored or when it’s difficult. And so far, I feel pretty good that way.”
Johnson, who has been married to NFL alum East, 29, since 2016, announced her pregnancy in January. The couple shares a 1-year-old daughter, Drew Hazel.
